Saloome received her PhD from the University of British Columbia, and she has since been teaching in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering and UBC Vantage College. She teaches a variety of engineering topics, such as Engineering Design, Electronic Circuits, and Electrostatics and Magnetism. Her research background is in nanotechnology and electronic properties of carbon nanotubes. (Ever heard of carbon nanotubes? How about the idea of space elevators or bulletproof shirts?!)
